Tournament Reports

“On Wednesday our year 6 netball team played in the St Mary’s tournament. We played four games in total. In our first match which was against St Paul’s we won 6-0, Kudzai and Ciara both scored 3 goals each. In our second game we played St Joseph’s, Bishop’s Stortford and we won 9-0, all playing really well as a team. Our third game was more tough as we conceded our first two goals of the tournament we all played really well and still managed to beat them 10-2. Our final game was the toughest against Sacred Heart as we really wanted to beat them thankfully luck came our way and we won beating them 3-1 only conceding 3 goals throughout the whole tournament. We were all really proud and we deserved to win the tournament as we all played our best and worked really well as a team.  Jessica Keenan, Y6”.

“On Wednesday 26th June we took part in the annual St Mary’s tournament.  The B team were Sophia, Niamh B, Niamh G, Millie, Katie, Ellie, Georgina, Carline and me.  We played two friendlies and 3 competitive matches.  We won against St Thomas’ 5-1, Sacred Heart 2-0 and lost to St Cross 7-9 in the competitive matches.  We then went on to win against St Cross 8-3 and Sacred Heart 9-1in the friendlies.  It’s a shame we didn’t win against St Cross in the competitive matches but we were pleased to come 2nd overall.  We played brilliantly as a team and really enjoyed our afternoon at St Mary’s.  By Imogen Linnane, Y5”.

“On Wednesday we played in a football tournament at St Mary’s in Bishops Stortford.  As a team we played really well.  We won three matches, drew one and lost one.  Harry, Luca and I were solid at the back with Alex and Cillian Long in midfield and Toby coming on in the first game and Cillian and me in the second.  Finley scored some amazing headers together with Louie scoring some amazing goals.  As a team we all played the very best we could.  By Harry Ellis Y6”.

Netball Match Report

On Monday our Year 6 netball team played a match again Hertingfordbury.  With some great defending in the D by Elsa and Evelyn we managed to stop them scoring a number of goals.

Mollie, Ciara, Summer, Sophia and myself all worked brilliantly intercepting the ball and moving it fluidly down the court to our goal shooter Kudzai, who deservedly won the player deservedly won a player of the match, scoring all of our  10 goals resulting in a 10–6 win to Saint Joseph‘s.

Football Match Report 11th March

“On Monday we played Hertingfordbury Cowper. They were a good team but we stayed strong throughout the game winning 4-1!   With two goals from Finley and one goal each from Alex and Louie. The front three Alex, Louie and Cillian Mc intensified the game, while Toby made some great saves in goal. Harry McNiff and I played defence making some strong blocks and clearing out from the back, while Finley was a strong team leader shouting encouragement throughout the game. Harry Ellis came on in the second half and played a strong defensive midfielder. Toby Jones showed great team spirit by encouraging us all from the side-lines.

We played really well as a team, well done everyone!” By Cillian Long
