Autumn 1

Dear parents and carers, 

Welcome to year 6! We have an exciting half-term ahead learning all about World War 2. We will be reading engaging stories in English and Guided reading, which support this topic. We will also be building Anderson Shelters in forest school!

This is an exciting half-term for year 6 pupils as they will be taking on new responsibilities, such as chaplaincy team, house team captains, prefects and play leaders. 

We will be sending out homework on a Friday. This will be arithmetic, SPAG and sometimes a reading comprehension task. We will take care to choose homework tasks which support your child's class learning, and help them to consolidate their knowledge. 

Miss Richards and I look forward to working closely with parents this term and welcome any questions you have.
