No worries, just scroll down to the bottom of this page for the link.
Where should I park?
Please find on the road parking or travel sustainably by walking if possible. Please avoid parking dangerously on North road or in the bus stop.
How old do the children have to be to take part?
Children over the age of 3 can take part as long as parents or carers have agreed to the waiver when buying ticket. Three and four year olds need to be accompanied by an adult.
Do I need to agree to a waiver when I buy my tickets?
Yes. When you pay for your tickets you must confirm that you have read, understood, and consented to the waiver which can be found on this page as a PDF and on the goodhub ticket platform where you buy your tickets. Please make sure you read this before buying your tickets. All participants must read, understand and consent themselves (if over 18) or on behalf of a child (if under 18) they are parent to or carer for, to take part.
How long is the course?
Key stage 1 and Early years children will be asked to complete 7 laps of the school field (1 mile!) and Key stage 2 children will be challenged to 10 laps of the school field.
Everyone is encouraged to complete the course, but it’s the taking part that’s the most important and children will still get celebrated if they don’t manage to complete the whole course.
How much should I try and raise in sponsorship?
If everyone could raise as much as possible it will really help in our efforts – big or small, every contribution helps. Collectively we raised over £3000 in sponsorship money alone last year, so if we could top that we’d be thrilled!
How do I pay the sponsorship money?
You can set up a sponsorship page linked to our page on good hub with your child’s name on it – that way you can send the link to friends and family and they can pay directly and send messages of support! To set this up please visit: https://www.goodhub.com/friends-of-st-josephs-14526
You can also pay by putting cash in an envelope with your child’s name on it and hand into the office.
What is the powder made of?
For information on the content of the powdered paint please scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find an information sheet.
What kind of obstacles will there be on the course?
A mixture of easy obstacles for all participants to manage.
Can my child still take part if they don’t want to get covered in paint?
We will have an area that children can run alongside the course if they don’t want to get a significant amount of paint thrown on them, however we won’t be able to manage the risk that some paint will go on them.
What should we wear?
Active wear that you don’t mind getting messy and trainers. While the powder is non-toxic and should not cause problems to those with allergies or cause irritation to the eyes, as a precaution we would suggest you bring goggles or sunglasses to protect their eyes. As part of your registration you will be given a white t-shirt which we would recommend wearing for the best results! Clothes should be soaked and treated with a stain remover before washing after the event for best results.
What do we need to bring on the day?
We would recommend you bring a towel, a change of clothes, a bottle of water and goggles or sunglasses.
Will you have first aid on site?
We will have the St Johns Ambulance on site during the event as a precaution.
I need some additional information, who do I ask?
Please drop your Class Rep any other questions and they will share with the committee. Alternatively, feel free to approach us in the playground, we're really friendly!
Do adults have to run?
We'd love you to join in the run with your little ones to raise as much money as possible. However, if you only want to spectate, you will need a spectator ticket which is priced at £7 to ensure we can cover the cost of the event (£5 for early bird discounted spectator ticket). 3&4 year olds do need to be accompanied by an adult on the course. No under 18’s are allowed at the event unaccompanied by an adult or guardian.
Safety and behaviour at the event
The FOSJ and parent volunteers run these events in our own time so please be mindful of this when you attend. Any abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. We would also ask parents to supervise their children at all times to ensure equipment / obstacles are not damaged and everyone has the best time in a safe environment. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanies by an adult to participate in the event.
