Welcome to our Spring 2 class page! This half term, Year 2 are becoming Street Detectives, exploring our local area, uncovering clues from the past and solving mysteries through our learning.

Our local area and why it is important
We will explore Hertford Castle and discover why it is such a special place in our town.
We will also learn about Queen Elizabeth I, who spent much of her childhood at Hertford Castle.
By the end of the unit, we will create an informative leaflet explaining:

How Hertford Castle was used in the past

What it is used for today
🔬 Science – Animals Including Humans
We will learn:

That animals (including humans) have offspring which grow into adults

The basic needs for survival (water, food and air)

The importance of exercise, healthy eating and hygiene
