Spring 1

Dear Parents and Children,

A warm welcome back to school and to the Spring term in Year 3! We hope you’ve had a restful break and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting term ahead.

Over the past weeks, we have continued to settle into our classroom routines and expectations. The children are showing enthusiasm, curiosity, and a positive attitude towards their learning, and we are very proud of the positive start they have made this term.

Weekly Reminders

PE: Mondays – Children should come to school wearing their PE kit and trainers.

Forest School: Wednesday mornings. Please send your child to school with a waterproof coat and ensure wellies or walking boots are kept in school. As the weather can still be cold and wet, arms and legs must be covered to keep warm and to prevent scratches or bites during outdoor activities.

Reading Books: Changed every Friday. Reading folders should be in school every day, as children will have additional reading opportunities throughout the week. Reading at home and discussing the text will help to extend your child’s understanding and enjoyment of books.

Seesaw: Please look out for weekly updates every Friday. I will also send individual messages throughout the week to share special moments, achievements, or pieces of work your child is proud of.

Supporting Learning at Home

Below, you will find:
📌 A topic overview outlining what we will be learning this Spring term
📌 Word mats to support spelling practice at home
📌 Knowledge organisers for our current topics to support understanding and discussion at home
📌 A Destination Reader bookmark – as mentioned during Parents’ Evening, this resource is helpful for reading with your child at home and encouraging deeper thinking and comprehension
📌 Links to our home learning platforms
Purple Mash: https://www.purplemash.com/#tab/home
Times Tables Rock Star: https://play.ttrockstars.com/setup/rockname

Please explore these resources together, as they are a great way to consolidate learning and spark further curiosity.

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a fantastic Spring term full of learning, growth, and enjoyment. If you have any questions or need support accessing home learning resources, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Warm regards,
Ms Clara Yu
