Together we grow in God's love, learning to be the best we can be.
Dear Parents and Children,
A warm welcome back to school and to Year 3! We hope you’ve had a restful summer and are ready for an exciting year ahead.
Over the past two weeks, we’ve been busy settling into our classroom routines and expectations. The children have made a fantastic start, showing enthusiasm, curiosity, and a positive attitude towards their learning.
PE: Mondays – Children should come to school wearing their PE kit and trainers.
Swimming: Mondays (8th, 15th, and 22nd September) – Please ensure your child brings the correct swimming kit.
Forest School: Wednesdays – As Mrs Lacey always says, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong outfit!” Please send in a waterproof coat and ensure wellies or walking boots are kept in school. As the weather turns colder and wetter, arms and legs must be covered to keep warm and prevent scratches or bites during outdoor activities.
Reading Books: Changed every Friday. Reading folders should be in school every day as children will have extra reading opportunities throughout the week. If a new book is needed before Friday, children can pop their book in the basket first thing in the morning.
Seesaw: Look out for weekly updates every Friday. I’ll also send individual messages throughout the week to share special moments, achievements, or pieces of work your child is proud of.
Below, you will find:
📌 A topic overview outlining what we will be learning about this half term
📌 Word mats to support spelling practice at home
📌 Links to our home learning platforms (including logins where applicable)
📌 Knowledge organisers for our current topic to support understanding and discussions at home
Please do explore these resources together – they’re a great way to help consolidate learning and spark further curiosity!
Thank you for your continued support. We’re looking forward to a fantastic term full of learning, growth, and fun. If you have any questions, or need any support accessing home learning resources, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Warm regards,
Ms. Clara Yu
