Dear Parents and Children,

A warm welcome to the Summer 1 term in Year 3! We hope you had a lovely Easter break and are feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning.

This half term, our learning will centre around Tribal Tales, where pupils will explore life in the Stone Age through History, alongside engaging learning in Science, Art, and English. In English, we will be writing narratives inspired by Stone Age Boy and creating our own instructions linked to hands-on experiences, including Forest School. In Science, we will continue learning about plants, while in Maths, we will build confidence in times tables, column subtraction, and fractions.

Weekly Reminders

• PE: Mondays – Children should come to school wearing their PE kit and trainers. Swimming on Thursday afternoon. 

• Forest School: Wednesday mornings – Please ensure your child brings a waterproof coat, with wellies or walking boots kept in school. Arms and legs should be covered for outdoor safety.

• Reading Books: Changed every Friday. Reading folders should be in school every day to support regular reading opportunities.

• Seesaw: Weekly updates will be shared every Friday, along with individual messages celebrating pupils’ achievements.
