St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

Together we grow in God's love, learning to be the best we can be.

ICT

Information, Communication and Technology

All classes, including the Nursery, have inter-active whiteboards and computers.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) involves learning how to use computers and smaller devices. Children learn how to use common software programmes, how to use the Internet and how to be safe in the technological world. They understand how ICT can help them in their learning.
We follow the requirements of the current National Curriculum and spread topics across year groups. However, we also try to keep pace with technological change and update topics so they are as relevant as possible to children. As technology has progressed at a rapid rate, so have the skills children come to school with, and so we continue to find new ways for them to develop their learning with ICT.

ICT is taught as a discrete lesson and is also used to support teaching and learning in all areas of the curriculum.
