Together we grow in God's love, learning to be the best we can be.

Year 4 Topic overview - Autumn 1

Welcome to year 4!

It has been so lovely to welcome the children back into school and hear the excitement as they catch up with each other and notice the great changes around school.  This half term has started really well, first day nerves have disappeared and together we are working on being a wonderful team.

I am thrilled to have found another book that children are excited by. Our class book 'Malamander' by Thomas Taylor.  I'm impressed that some children have already got their own copies and have promised me - no spoilers!   We love reading in year four and it is a great shame that we cannot share books between school and home at the moment.  However,  we have a cunning plan. Our 'reading river' display will  display the wide variety of books and other reading material read by the class through the year at school and at home.  If you could help your child to upload a review of each book they read and a photo of the front cover to Purple Mash we will soon have a wonder wall of recommendations.

You will see that I have set books to read and maths work on Purple Mash as well as times tables Rock stars and Mathletics. Reading and tables will be a vital part of home learning so I am thrilled to say that we have already won the rock guitar!

Have a great half term, I look forward to being able to post some photos on here soon.
