St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

Together we grow in God’s love, learning to be the best we can be.

Autumn1

Welcome to year 4!

It has been lovely to see so many familiar smiling faces, as well as a couple of new ones.  This half term has started really well and together we are working on being a wonderful team.

I am thrilled that the children are so excited by our class book 'The Land of Roar' by Jenny McLachlan.  It was a book that none of the children had heard of but has really caught their imagination, and eight children have since announced that they now have their own copies!   We love reading in year four and I will always be interested to hear about books that the children have enjoyed so please feel free to drop me a line with a recommendation or two.  This term I will be attending some twilight workshops on reading for pleasure and I look forward to talking to the children about new authors and books to excite them about reading even more.

New for 2019 is the year four Eco Warrior club.  We are the 'Wednesday Warriors', meeting once a week at lunch time.  All year fours are welcome and, when we are settled, we hope to create a committee with representatives from each year group.  The children have some good ideas and are determined to make a difference so watch this space!

Have a great half term, I look forward to being able to post some photos on here soon.
