Together we grow in God's love, learning to be the best we can be.
At St Joseph’s, we strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters the moral development of pupils, helping them grow into individuals guided by strong ethical values and a commitment to living out their faith. Moral development is taught through a combination of religious education, ethical discussions in other subjects, PSHE & RSE discrete lessons and practical examples, Collective Worship, Catholic social teaching, and the lives of saints. Pupils are encouraged to reflect on moral values such as compassion, justice, honesty, and respect for others.
Teachers engage students in discussions about ethical dilemmas and encourage critical thinking to help them understand the principles behind moral decision-making. We incorporate service-learning projects and community service opportunities to promote pupils to put their moral values into action.
We promote moral development by integrating Catholic teachings and values into our curriculum and daily activities as listed below:
We provide formal religious education, PSHE and RSE lessons that teach our pupils about Catholic beliefs, moral principles, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. These lessons help pupils develop a strong foundation in Catholic morality.
2. Faith Formation:
At St Joseph’s, we foster an environment that encourages pupils to deepen their faith and develop a personal relationship with God. Pupils can reflect on their beliefs and values through prayer, worship, sacraments, and spiritual retreats.
