The chaplaincy team travelled to Westminster Cathedral to celebrate the year of Adoremus with may other schools from Westminster diocese. It was a wonderfully spiritual event. The singing was beautiful and it was very interesting to listen to Cardinal Vincent Nichols discuss the meaning of the hymn 'Sacrament Divine'. The chaplaincy team felt very privileged to represent St Joseph's on such an occasion.
After a wonderful service celebrating harvest and a great response to the chaplaincy appeal for donations for the local foodbank, the chaplaincy team visited the foodbank to deliver some of the donated food. The volunteers at the foodbank were very welcoming and showed the team how the foodbank works on a practical level, but more importantly the children were made aware of how the community of Hertford work together to support the vulnerable in our town. Not only do the foodbank provide practical support in the form of food, they listen to the people who visit them and point them in direction of further help and support. It truly was an inspirational place to visit. The chaplaincy team will be leading an assembly about their experience so the rest of the school can be as informed as they are about the wonderful work of the Hertford Foodbank
